Q: What is Morley’s Run?

A: Morley’s Run is a 10 mile run and 5 mile fun run/walk. (both competitive and family oriented is open to all ages ) The race course will take participants by many Johnstown landmarks, beginning at the Incline Plane and ending in downtown Johnstown. The proceeds from this event will benefit the Newspaper in Education program that supplies newspapers to area teachers for use as curriculum in their classrooms.

Q: Can I register the day of the race?

A: Yes! Registration can be done on race day. Cost is $30 for 10 mile and $20 for 5 mile. (Sorry, we can’t guarantee you will get one of the awesome race jerseys though, only if you register before October 9)


Q: What if it rains or snows?

A: The race will go on-rain/snow or shine


Q: Is the registration fee refundable?

A: No. Refunds will not be given. Please see our cancellation policy on the registration page for further information.


Q: Is there an age limit?

A: There is no age minimum or maximum. All minors must have a signed waiver from their parent or guardian.


Q: Am I guaranteed an event jersey?

A: Pre-registered runners that sign up by October 9 are guaranteed a race-jersey. Runners who register after that are not guaranteed a race jersey and will receive one as supplies last.

 

Q: What time does the race start?

A: 9:00 AM (Same day registration starts at 8:00 AM)


Q: Where does the race Start/End?

A: The race starts at the Westmont Grove (1000 Edgehill Drive Johnstown, PA 15905) and ends at PNG Park (90 Johns Street Johnstown, PA 15901).


Q: How will the groups be divided?

A: There will be male and female categories in all three divisions (10 mile run, 5 mile run and 5 mile walk). There will not be specific age groups.



Q: Will there be water stations?

A: Yes, there will be 3 water stations throughout the course. One located at the Ferndale Grade School, one at the exit of Stackhouse Park and one on the 5 mile course.


Q: Is there a pace requirement:

A: Yes. Runners should maintain a 12 minute-per-mile pace. As the race progresses, sections of the course will close so we cannot guarantee the availability of water and aid for runners who run slower than the suggested pace.


Q: Can I walk the 10 mile course?

A: No


Q: Can I bring my dog?

A: Other than licensed service pets, no pets are allowed.


Q: Can I push a stroller?

A: Other than adaptive vehicles, no other mode of transportation is permitted. No unicycles, bicycles, baby strollers, skates/roller blades, pets or non-registered runners or individuals are permitted on the courses.


Q: Can I listen to music during the race?

A: Wearing of headsets is not recommended.


Q: How do I get back to the Starting line?

A: The Incline Plane will offer free rides to all Morley’s Run participants back to the starting area after the race.


Q: What do I do after I have completed the race?

A: Hang out with us to celebrate! Music, food and beverages will be provided for all participants at the end of the race while supplies last.


Q: Where can I see the results of Morley’s Run?

A: Results will be printed in the Tribune-Democrat following the race. They will also be available on-line at the Morley’s Run link. www.tribdemnie.com/morleysrun/
